Have you heard the phrase Internet of Things (IoT) going around lately? It’s a hot topic in the information technology world today, and rightfully so. IoT has the potential to redefine our interaction with everyday objects.

In fact, by the year 2020, it’s estimated that IoT will consist of over 24 billion devices, not including traditional computing devices such as computers, smart phones, and tablets. So what exactly makes an object a part of this network, and what sort of impact will this have on our day to day life?
